FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Glass Lantern releases CalTrack v1.13
Adds 6,000 item food database to the easiest to use Microsoft Pocket PC calorie
tracking diet application.
Washington, DC, USA - 7
December, 2001. Glass Lantern announces the release of the latest version
of CalTrack, a Pocket PC calorie tracking program that
makes it easy to track calorie consumption while on-the-go. Once personal
statistics such as height, gender and weight are entered, CalTrack
automatically calculates body mass index (BMI) and accurately estimates
daily calorie requirements. CalTrack's USDA database of over
6,000 foods and over 11,000 portion sizes provides complete calorie
information for commonly consumed foods.
Unlike many other fitness and calorie tracking software products, CalTrack uses a single, simple screen to provide complete calorie tracking
information at a glance. Careful design refined with feedback from over
a year of customer use simplifies the entire process of monitoring food
intake while maintaining accuracy. By making it easy to track calories,
CalTrack helps users to meet their weight loss, gain, or maintenance
goals.
Caltrack's comprehensive feature set includes:
-
An easy to read display showing calories consumed and expended for
the current day, as well as summarized calorie information tracked
over multiple days.
-
A USDA database of over 6,000 foods in over 11,000 portion sizes,
with complete calorie information for each. Searching the entire
database takes less than three seconds on most Pocket PC devices, and
supports multi-word queries to quickly find any food. Once found,
choosing the number of portions eaten automatically enters the
calories into the daily calorie log.
-
Automatic calculation of daily calorie requirements customized for
specific age, gender, weight, and activity level, based on standard
Harris-Benedict equations. As statistics change, daily calorie
expenditure is automatically updated, freeing users from tedious and
difficult manual calculation.
-
Automatic calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI) based on height and
weight, providing a standard measure of weight-related health risk.
Caltrack assists in achieving a lower-risk BMI.
-
Estimates of how long it will take to reach weight targets based on
tracked calorie consumption rate.
-
A carefully designed user interface optimized for quick and easy
calorie tracking. CalTrack's large calorie buttons enable use with a
finger, encouraging tracking when calories are consumed, even while
on-the-go. Intelligence such as remembering previous custom calorie
quantities and searches means that frequently used information does
not need to be entered repeatedly.
-
A clear and comprehensive help system that includes not only
assistance on how to use the program, but also advice on strategies
for best using CalTrack's capabilities to successfully meet weight
goals.
Earlier releases of CalTrack have been in use on the
Pocket PC for over a year. This latest release is a major upgrade,
providing improved performance, higher reliability, and new features to
enhance calorie tracking.
