announces the beta release of mPack, a wide-ranging
collection of Smartphone tools packaged into a single
application. This beta release includes 11 tools for timing, calculating, taking notes, reading text
ebooks, and having
fun:
- TipCalc - calculate tip on a restaurant check and split
it among the group
- QuickCalc - perform complex calculations involving
multiple steps
- Loans & Savings - calculate monthly payments, size of
loan, and savings growth
- QuickNotes - take notes and send them via email
- QuickReader - read text ebooks
- Stopwatch - time events with normal stopwatch, plus lap
and countdown timer functionality
- Coin Toss - flip a coin and guess heads or tails
- Inscrutable Oracle - ask a question and receive informative
advice
- Flashlight - use backlight in a variety of colors, such as
red for preserving night vision
- App Manager - shut down or switch to running
applications
- Power & Memory - get status for battery, internal
memory, and storage cards
mPack packages a variety of components into a single,
well-tested application, eliminating the need for users to research, download, and
purchase multiple small tools. Designed to be extremely small and
lightweight, the entire mPack download is under 35KB, and expands to only
85KB when installed. Upgrades are greatly simplified since users
only need to track a single application that automatically updates all
components with each new release. Since mPack is a single application, it
does not clutter the Start/Programs menu with multiple new icons - all
functionality is easily accessible from the mPack main menu.
